(This was orginally posted on my LJ. I should have posted it here as well. I am doing that now – April 24. It is the original post, minus the meme that was added at the end.)
Today was a pretty awesome day, if I might say so myself. Granted, it wasn’t the most awesome day, but it was OK.
I know I keep procrastinating in explaining my absence from the month of March online, but I am not doing it on purpose. Taking the time to type it, is one thing, but actually typing what it was like is another and not one I want to go through right now. I did enough of crying during March as it was. Long story short, the most wonderful and awesome and greatest man i have EVER known departed this world … my Papa. He is missed tremendously by us all each and every day. (That short “explanation” even made me cry. Damnit!)
I am going to try to get back into the habit of updating on a semi-regular basis via LJ and/or my blog, I promise.
I digress. Continue Reading…

Another year has gone by and my favorite Backstreet Boy, who I got to see up close (but not too personal) last October turns 32 today. He’s getting up there!
It seems like yesterday when I started like the Backstreet Boys and AJ became my favorite. He was 19 and I was 14. For whatever I don’t know what it is that has always made him my favorite, but he is and always will be…especially learning this very day, his 32nd birthday, that he has become engaged for the umpteenth time to his newest girlfriend, Rochelle Deanna Karidis, on on his birthday no less.
Anyway, I hope he has a happy and SOBER 32nd birthday! (I still can’t believe he’s that old.)
Today is December 16 – and that means…it is Tara’s birthday!

(This picture belongs to the birthday girl and was taken last year.)
*sings* Happy Birthday to you! Happy Birthday to you! Happy Birthday dear Tara! Happy Birthday to you!
I hope she has a fantastic day, because she deserves it. She has been a great friend and I couldn’t asked for a better person to be friends with. I could go on and on about what a great and fantastic person she is, but I won’t. She knows it, and if she doesn’t, she should!
Happy Birthday, Tara!
Just wanted to wish you all a very happy Turkey day! Don’t eat too much…and if you do…make sure you have elastic in your pants!

I will be spending the day at my grandparents house, but first thing in the morning I get to cook…green bean casserole, chocolate/marshmallow treat. I also have to warm up baked mac & cheese and lima beans for my mom, who will be at work until dinner time. I love all the great food! Yummy!

[nocrosspost]Well, the 2009 season is officially over.
It feels like yesterday that it just started and I was hoping for the best for Kasey Kahne. The best happened to be 2 wins, including a road course win (a first), and making the Chase.
All three 2009 NASCAR Champions have been “crowned” and congrats to them.

To continue with Kasey Kahne and his mediocre season… Continue Reading…
Here is one of the pictures that I took this past Saturday at the Gravediggers Ball held at Dixie’s Tavern in Charlotte, N.C. I will post more, hopefully, later. I just thought I’d share one with you all. Continue Reading…
As some of you know, some don’t, I have an aunt (Mary) with down syndrome. She, along with my Papa, is the heart of our family.
Growing up, we all felt very special to have an aunt who we could play with. It was something we knew early on that many people didn’t get to experience. We knew we were special, or rather lucky, to have her in our life, in our family.
Today, she is 43, she will turn 44 in December, on the exact day that my Papa, her daddy, will celebrate his 70th birthday. She has lived 39 years, past the age doctors told my grandparents she’d live. Personally, I don’t know the severity of her downs, but she even though she can’t read, she is smarter than many people I know.
What brought this up, huh? Well I picked up my local newspaper today (the same newspaper organization I once worked for) and on one of the sports pages, I read a story that brought me to tears, happy tears though. Continue Reading…
Well tonight is the finale of True Blood Season 2. I am a bit excited (well more than a bit) and yet saddened because then I have to wait 9 months before Season 3 starts. Luckily, I have NASCAR for the next 2.5 months.
(Oh by the way, a Mr. Kasey Kenneth Kahne made his second Chase for the Sprint Cup and is currently seeded 5th thanks to 2 wins.)
After NASCAR, however, I DO NOT know what I will do. Granted I’ll have a few shows to watch and will keep me occupied for the time being, I suppose.
But thanks to the finale coming up, a lot of the cast have made various appearances on televison. Stephen Moyer (Vampire Bill) was on Regis & Kelly last week, Rutina Wesley (Tara) was on Chelsea Lately the week before last, just to name a few.
Sam Trammell (Sam Merlotte) was also on Chelsea Lately Friday, Sept. 11 – I however didn’t learn of this until after the fact. Yes, I suppose that does make me a bad fan, but I figured I’d share the wonderful (and hilarious) video with you all…and most importantly with my fellow Sam Trammell/Merlotte fans…but don’t get it wrong… I ♥ Sam Trammell the most!!!!! *wink*

First off, if you haven’t seen the 12 episode of True Blood season 2 and/or the preview/trailer for the finale and/or read the books, you may not want to read further. But feel free to. Granted I am not sure if there is exactly a spoiler, but I do have a topic or two I want to discuss. With that being said, I shall continue where I was going to start.
I have a prediction or an insight as to who I think will die, other than Maryann, on the finale. Before reading what I think, please take the time to do the following poll…I’m just curious to see what you think.

First before I start on my tangent, and yes I do have one, however petty it may be, I must first give the background information, which is good because I haven’t really told many what is happening lately.
My grandfather (we call him Papa) is the rock of our family. I love him to pieces and he’s simply the best grandfather there is. Granted I may be a bit bias.
On June 25, yes the same day Michael Jackson and Farrah Fawcett died, our family learned my Papa had lung cancer. I don’t think I would have taken it so bad if I had learned something was wrong with him via my cousin’s Facebook, which then lead me to call my grandparents to ask why, which then (per my Aunt’s request through a shaky voice) to call my mother at work. To make matters worse, I was 6+ hours away in North Carolina, where I had moved a few months before. I took it hard. My roommate and I went to the movies so that I could not think about it or cry anymore, which was fantastic…unfortunatly we learned that MJ had died and well it simply became a horrible, no good day.
