…but don’t call me stupid.

Alright, most of you know I’m not a spontaneous kind of person, in fact, I rarely do something that isn’t planned to a T…granted most things don’t end up how I planned them but still. But next week…Wednesday exactly, will mark on the first spontaneous things I have ever done.

Wednesday is the BARN PARTY 2008 featuring the Sadler brothers, Elliott and Hermie, along with Dale Jarrett and Blake Shelton. This year, however, happens to add not only Bucky Covington and Lee Brice (yummy!) but also Mr. Kasey K. Kahne.

Now, when the “picnic” was announced, I had decided not to go. It was in the middle of the week and I had a trip planned for my birthday. It wasn’t a good choice and I also didn’t feel I had anyone to go with. Read the rest of this entry »

So, I’m back from Ohio/Michigan. I got back yesterday afternoon. It was a great trip with wonderful experiences but was mired by an unfortunate event towards the end.

My birthday was great, but I did not appreciate Mr. Kahne’s engine blowing up and finishing 40th to fall to 11th in points. No thank you, Mr. Kahne. I should have know the two w/ the most luck in June (Junior and Kasey) would be two of the unfortunate ones for the weekend. I did, however, get to see my first weekend sweep of a driver — Carl Edwards. And, I also got to experience practices and qualifying on pit road — a great, wonderful experience. Tara and I have decided that we can no longer attend races w/o pit passes. We are now officially spoiled. Texas better watch out. Read the rest of this entry »

Well…as you all know, or at least I hope you all know, today marks 1 day until I (and Tara) leave for Ohio/Michigan. We leave tomorrow morning — Tara from Arkansas and I from Jacksonville, Fla. We have a connecting flight in Memphis, Tenn. and then we’ll head to Columbus, Ohio where Sarah will be there to pick us up! Oh and we leave at the crack of dawn, well not really, but close enough.

I can’t guarantee there will updates from me, but I will at least try. I suggest, for best updates, follow me on twitter, as I am sure I’ll keep it somewhat updated.

Also, if you don’t know the reason why I am going all that way from Ga. to a race, well the race falls exactly o my 25th birthday. For two years I have said I wanted to go. When I got the opportunity, I took it. My decision has caused me a bit of pain and sorrow, but I don’t regret it. I am sorry for feelings hurt and those people know that.

Well, Tara and I will be going with Sarah and Alisandra, who have already celebrated their birthdays. Tara, however, doesn’t celebrate hers until December. I thought that it would be a good idea or fun, if we have a big bash, not in the sense of an actually party, but just us all celebrating, b/c Tara doesn’t have a race to fall on her birthday ever. So, I am hoping that will happen. Most importantly I am hoping for us to all have fun and a good time.

But guess what? Read the rest of this entry »

How appropriate the title is! I know I shouldn’t let certain things bother me, but some things just can’t be helped but to bother me. I won’t worry you all with them, as they aren’t for you to worry with. Anyways…

Today now makes it 2 days until I leave for Ohio/Michigan. This time on Thursday Tara and I should already be at the airport heading to get our luggage and to meet Sarah. (I think later that day we’ll meet Alisandra but I can’t exactly remember.) I am excited, as shown in my lack of sleep lately. I tried not to let aforementioned problems bother me or sidetrack me from my excitement. I’ll be ok.

Today, however, when I get off of work I get to begin packing. I need to have a majority of everything packed. Or at least set aside to pack up. Read the rest of this entry »

Well…today has been an odd say, so to say. It hasn’t been long nor has it been short, really. It’s just been normal, I suppose.

I figured out what to write about in this week’s column, unfortunately I have no idea what to pre-talk about in next week’s column, so who knows. There may not be one or I may have to write one while I’m in Michigan and email it to the sports guy. I am sure I’ll figure it out before it’s too late.

Today was a little different, however, because I had a “make-over” from the ladies downstairs. It was a Mary Kay make-over and if I say so myself, I rather enjoyed being dolled up, we’ll see how long “dollying” myself up goes. If I do so say myself, I think I clean up well. *wink*

However, beginning tomorrow, my life becomes a little hectic. Read the rest of this entry »

Reeling Them In

10 Aug 2008 In: The Pit Report Online, movies, ramblings, random

So, the countdown is getting smaller. And so is the night.

Today was ok. The race was boring and I don’t think this weeks column will be worth the read, so I might have to figure out something else to talk about, plus I have to come up with one for next week since I won’t get back to work until a Wednesday.

But anyways…the countdown (and lists) continues… Read the rest of this entry »

The best, in my opinion, soap opera came to an end yesterday. Sadly or unfortunately for you all, you missed out on it. (LOL).

It was a rather interesting show, for lack of a better word. Very strange and silly and all, but it was good. Yes, the acting was bad, by some of them, and yes the storylines were often terrible or redundant, but it was good. I remember seeing the first couple of episodes, well not the first ones, but maybe a week or two after it premiered and watching the fish guts fall on Ethan’s head. Poor Theresa, the ever persistent hopeless romantic. Always trying to get him to notice her and to fall in in love with her and when he does, it’s too late — every time. This heat is horrible. According to my desktop gadget it is 97 and it feels like HELL! I hate living in south Georgia, particularly for the summers. The rest I can usually deal with but this heat, humidity, is a MF!

Also, I think I am getting another sinus infection. My ear is hurting, but I may have figured out why. The generic Claritin. So, looks like I won’t be taking it any longer. Maybe the doctor can prescribe me some real Claritin.

Sad news. Passions, my favorite soap opera, officially ends tomorrow. I am sad. I thought it ended today, but it is tomorrow. So I will be watching and possibly crying. Yay, Ethan & Theresa finally get together & marry!

Well…do you know that in 8 days I leave for Ohio/Michigan? I am sure you did. And you know what that means, don’t you?

Another countdown… Read the rest of this entry »

So, after an good weekend spending time with my cousin and uncle, fishing and eating, I had to return to normal life.

I was fortunate enough to be able to watch the race yesterday but had to leave, to head home, during the rain delay, which I was hoping would stay RED and end the race. Hey, a girl can only wish, right?!

So, the days/weeks are going by — faster than normal, I suppose. My birthday is in less than two weeks which means I also leave in less than two weeks.

Hence the first of this week’s countdown… Read the rest of this entry »

In honor of today (Thurs. July 31) marking the official 2 weeks (14 days) until I leave — (I suppose Tara leaves as well, lol) — I wanted to make sure I did a countdown for today. I am really, really excited (as I have continued to say, I am sure I will shut up).

I have like, love, television since I was a small children. I’ve really grown up in front of a television. That wasn’t really of my mom’s doing, more of my own. It was the one thing I enjoy doing, even if it was lazy.

Over the years, my favorites have been updated. Some have gone away and many have appeared.

Like my movies, I have liked a variety of television shows. Anything from Welcome Back Kotter to The Golden Girls to Buffy, the Vampire Slayer and Angel. From Roseanne to Nip/Tuck to Jon & Kate + 8.

I have always enjoyed watching TVLand and it makes me laugh to see some of the shows I grew up watching on there. It is amusing. Read the rest of this entry »
