Congrats & Thoughts…

Well…the season is officially over with…and I am officially bored…yes, I know it’s early to profess that but I know come Sunday I’ll be out of my mind. Luckily, I have several books on my reading list and I have a feeling I’ll get some reading done in the next 90 days!

First, despite the fact that I don’t like two of this year’s winners, congrats goes out to all three. And that’s all I’m going to say on that.

Texas Roundup — Giddy Up!

Oh boy…did I have a blast in Texas. It was so much fun and it was great being in a new state/city. I am glad I got to and I can’t wait to go again — which I hope can be next year.

(Tara and I as we waited “patiently” for the New Kids On The Block to take the stage for what would be a FANTASTIC concert.)

Tara has more “detailed” info and better pictures than I do on her blog. Read the rest of this entry »

NKOTB Rocks!

I hope you already knew that, because if you didn’t, you really should!

(My pictures didn’t turn out all that well, but feel free to ask for the link & the password and I’ll be glad to share them all with whoever would like to look at them.)

The concert last Wednesday (October 29) was an absolute blast, and I can now die a happy woman (lol). I never thought I would say any concert would be the best one I have ever attended, but even before the show was over, I was thinking that very thing. The only thing that made it not so grand was that Hilary wasn’t there to attend it with us (Tara and I).

There is no simple way to put it into words…but…a few of my thoughts… Read the rest of this entry »

Going To Have A Good Time…

I am sure there are a few (*wink*) of my readers also read Tara’s blog as well. If you do, you would know that today she is “officially” on vacation. Well, she didn’t really say who she’ll be on vacation with… *points to me* … yep that is right, for those of you who may have forgotten or simply don’t know (since I haven’t updated a lot lately) I will be vacationing with her.

Tomorrow after work, or rather, at 2ish p.m., I will be making the 4 hour trek by (new) car to Atlanta, where I will see Tara for the first time since Michigan in August. We’ll then head to the New Kids on the Block concert that night.

Yes, I (we) said New Kids On The Block (NKOTB)… Read the rest of this entry »

Change of Scenery

So…how do you like?

I have been searching for a theme that was “just right” not one that was “right for right now”…and although I absolutly loved my previous one (the orangy one) this one is more me. And it works with what I need it to work with.

I have also found a new plugin called “Now Reading” - notice the sidebar - since I have been on a reading spree and this way I can continue to show my books with all my friends (and readers).

Well that is all…for now…

Been Around The World…

Over the past month and a half, I’ve been to North Carolina, Miami and the 15th Century…and I’m getting ready to head to Washington.

Obviously I haven’t really been to any of those places (well granted I have been to North Carolina, but not since May). I’ve been reading. I love to read, but I seldom find time to so anymore…but I’ve taken up a new routine and it appears to work. I also get to catch up on some books I have been meaning to read and some new ones that have caught my eye. Read the rest of this entry »

Oh And P.S.

I forgot to add…

Kasey missed making history by 0.946 seconds.

And despite not actually accomplishing it, he has 1-1-2 finishes at all 3 racing events at LMS for the season…and his “ego,” momentum, confident, whatever, has been boosted.

That is all.

And This Is My Thought On The Situation…

As rumors continue to fly about Gillett Evernham Motorsports manufacturer movement, the recent conundrum that is GEM, I thought I would express my feelings about the situation. And since my column, as of late, is more about the Chase races and drivers, and not really about the current rumors that still is “silly season” going on, I thought I would so on my blog, right here!

As a Kahne fan (that’s an understatement), I root for the driver and not the team, which in recent times, has definitely been true. When I first became a “die hard” NASCAR fan, it was Kasey Kahne that I was driven to. I was just getting into it, thanks to an old friend, and I wasn’t sure to to really root for. Of course everyone, who was anyone, rooted for Dale Earnhardt Jr. and my old friend, well she was an exception. Her heart, during that time, was for Ryan Newman, but it quickly changed to none other than Tony Stewart. I didn’t like either of those, and I really still don’t.

So, after watching more and more races, for the enjoyment factor, I began to notice the KAHNE (R). Well, my friend had her driver and she along with another person, an ex-friend of both of ours, began writing a fan fic, and that is the real reason I needed a driver and really got into NASCAR, but still…anyways…I digress…. Triple Trifecta?!?

I made this for rk @ kk for this week’s race at Lowes Motor Speedway.

For those we are not aware, Kasey (Kahne) is unintentially attempting to set a record and become the first driver to ever win all three racing events at LMS in a single year. He won the AllStar Rave XXVI and the Coca-Cola 600 in May during his HIGH point of the season. With the wins, he became the first “Fan Vote” driver to win the AllStar race and he joined a small number of drivers who won both races back-to-back.

My Saturday evening will be VERY, VERY nerveracking, to say the least. ;-)
